This site was established while I was a Member of Parliament. As Parliament is dissolved from March 30, there are no Members of Parliament from then until after the Election on 07 May 2015
Sandra was joined in Parliament by Gwen Davis, Sheila Douglass, Vera Sime and Eileen Puller – four of the original Made in Dagenham women who went on strike for equal pay leading to the Equal Pay Act of 1970. |
Keir Hardie was my kind of socialist. He lived and worked in Cumnock. Proud to be Scottish, he helped found the Scottish Labour Party, the British Labour Party and build up the Trade Union Movement. He became an MP in the UK Parliament, first for an English seat and then for a Welsh one.
He was outward looking and progressive, fighting hard for a Scottish Parliament within the UK, women's suffrage, self rule in India and an end to segregation in South Africa. No wonder we are so proud of him in Ayrshire. These pages tell you a bit about myself, the issues I feel strongly about, and the work I have undertaken while I was an MP. I have experienced hard working staff in my constituency office who will be happy to help you with your enquiries in the first instance. During the General Election period special rules apply. You can still contact my office for help and advice but only by telephoning 01292 262906. You can also find out how to contact your local Labour Councillor here Why not bookmark my website for easy access in future Thanks for visiting and come again soon. |
