Sandra Osborne MP today commented on Job Centre Plus ‘co-location’ of Girvan office
Sandra Osborne said:
‘JobCentre Plus (JCP) is proposing to close its Girvan office in order to co-locate with partner organisations in
another office in the town. It has given a commitment to ‘continue to offer the full range of services currently available at the new location’ while reducing the cost to the taxpayer and providing more of a ‘one stop shop’ for services. I have been advised that all staff working in Girvan Jobcentre will be
moved to the new site.’
JCP is seeking the views of its customers and of interested organisations on this proposal before the end of
the consultation on 18 August 2011. At this point, all comments will be fully considered before an
announcement is made in the autumn.
Sandra added:
‘I will be seeking assurances from Jobcentre Plus on the location of the new office. I would also like to know what will be done with the empty building. In the meantime, I would be pleased to know what local people think on any aspect of this proposal before the consultation ends on 18 August. I can be contacted at my constituency office by email [email protected] , by telephone 01292 262906 or by writing to me at 139 Main Street, Ayr KA8 8BX.’
