MP for Ayr, Carrick & Cumnock, Sandra Osborne welcomes the Government’s decision to award the DVLA’s Front Office Counter Services Contract to Post Office Ltd. The new contract comes into effect on 1 April 2013.
Sandra said:
‘I received a large volume of communication from constituents who wanted to continue to access DVLA services locally and I am delighted that Post Office Ltd has been awarded the contract to continue the service. These services are vital in ensuring the future of the Post Office. I understand that motorists will also soon be able to access new services such as the provision of duplicate licences and the licensing of Heavy Goods Vehicles, which could not be previously be accessed at the Post Office. I also understand that the contract gives scope to provide services to the public for other Government departments.’
