Sandra Osborne MP Welcomes Royal Mail Christmas Stamp Scheme
Royal Mail announced in March this year that it would be launching a Christmas Stamp scheme to assist customers in receipt of Pension Credit, Employment and Support Allowance or Incapacity Benefit to purchase stamps in the run up to Christmas. A leaflet is being sent out to all households in Ayr Carrick and Cumnock constituency and around the country providing further detail.
The scheme will run from 6 November until 24 December and it will enable customers to purchase a total of 36 first and second class stamps at last year’s prices – 46p for first class and 36p for second class. To be eligible, customers will need to be in receipt of Pension Credit, Employment and Support Allowance or Incapacity Benefit.
Sandra Osborne said:
‘I am pleased that Royal Mail has introduced this scheme to help people who are struggling financially to send cards to their friends and loved ones this Christmas, at the time of year when money is particularly tight.
‘I would encourage all those eligible to visit their local post office to take advantage of this offer.’
Ends
