MP Organises Local What Women Want Event in Run up to International Women’s Day
Ayr Carrick and Cumnock MP, Sandra Osborne, is organising a meeting with local women to hear their views on issues of concern to them and to find out what they see as the main issues facing women in these challenging times.
The meeting will take place on Friday 7 March at the Citadel, South Harbour Street, Ayr at 7pm.

‘I wanted to organise this event in the run up to International Women’s Day, which is held annually, and is officially recognised by the United Nations. The main purpose of International Women’s Day is to celebrate the achievements of women throughout history and across nations. In the local event on 7th March, we will be taking some time to reflect on this and we will also be discussing the issues which are important to women in the present day. I am also delighted that South Ayrshire Women’s Aid will be there to inform people about the work of their organisation in helping and supporting local women.
‘I intend to highlight the issues raised on the night with the Government and will also feedback relevant matters to the All Party Equality Group which I chair.
‘I would encourage local women to attend this meeting. If you are interested in attending, please contact me on 01292 262906 or email me on [email protected].
