Local MP, Sandra Osborne welcomed Scottish Labour Leader Johann Lamont and Deputy Leader Anas Sarwar to Cumnock last week for a Campaign Rally in the Dumfries Arms Hotel. Before the meeting, which was attended by 140 people, Johann Lamont laid 12 red roses at the bust of Keir Hardie outside the Town Hall.
> Sandra said, "The clear message from the Rally was that showing solidarity and unity with ordinary working people across the UK is far better than turning out back and walking away from the UK. Johann set out clearly Labour's policies for social justice and why we need a change of policies not passports to achieve that. In the last days of the campaign, the audience was enthused to get over the message that Scotland can have the best of both worlds, a stronger Scottish Parliament backed up by the strength stability and security of the UK but ony with a clear No vote."
