MP Slams Decision to Close Cumnock and Girvan Driving Test Centres
Sandra Osborne MP today attacked the Government over the decision to close the Driving Test Centres in Girvan and Cumnock in January 2011. She said:
‘I am very disappointed at the decision to close the Driving Test Centres in Cumnock and Girvan. I am led to believe by the Driving Standards Agency that this is due to a lack of demand and the new multipurpose test centre in Ayr which has led to this ‘rationalisation’, however, I am concerned that local people will have to travel a substantial distance to Ayr or Kilmarnock Test Centres to familiarise themselves with those routes. This will have time and costs implications for my constituents.
‘I will be raising these concerns with the Minister responsible - Conservative MP and Secretary of State for Transport - Philip Hammond ’.
