MP Calls For Post Office to Investigate Poor Service in Rankinston
Ayr Carrick and Cumnock MP Sandra Osborne has expressed her outrage over the ‘unacceptably unreliable’ post office service in Rankinston. This follows representations from constituents who advised that the mobile post office van did not visit Rankinston on Monday or Tuesday this week as planned.
The Post Office has informed Sandra that the mobile van was off the road on Monday for a routine audit and on Tuesday it broke down. Normal service resumed on Wednesday.
Sandra said:
‘This situation is totally unacceptable. The mobile service which was introduced following closure of the local branch is becoming more and more unreliable and is falling short of what was promised at the time.
‘I have contacted the Post Office to express my serious concerns over the poor service. Rankinston relies heavily on the post office service and it is unacceptable for my constituents to be served by such an unreliable service. I have raised concerns over this on many occasions.
‘I have asked the Post Office to investigate this and have urged them to take measures to ensure the delivery of a dependable service in Rankinston. I will continue to follow this issue closely.’
