A slideshow of the United with Labour Campaign in Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock Constituency
The local Labour Party was out knocking doors, delivering leaflets, holding street stalls, organising public meetings week after week until the referendum was won for the No vote. Here is a slideshow of the highlights of our successful local campaign.
Sandra's statement at the start of the campaign - "We believe in an idea bigger than independence- that is the pooling and sharing of resources across the UK for the benefit of everyone in the UK. We don't just want to deliver fairness in Scotland, but fairness and equality for friends family and colleagues right across the UK. Together we can build a better Scotland and United Kingdom." Sandra's reaction to the No victory - ' It has been a long and sometimes acrimonious campaign. However the level of participation has been exceptional and a credit to the whole of Scotland. I would like to thank the whole team of Labour workers and everyone who contributed to the campaign We must now all come together and work to take Scotland forward to a better future I look forward with enthusiasm to playing my part in legislating for the further devolution powers promised by the party leaders within the agreed timetable' |
