Labour MP gives cautious welcome to British Gas Cut in Electricity Prices
Labour MP Sandra Osborne has given a cautious welcome to the recent announcement by British Gas of a five per cent cut in electricity prices.
Sandra said:
With falling wholesale costs , all energy companies should cut their prices for now. They are very quick at hiking up energy bills when prices rise – they need be just as quick at cutting them when prices fall.
Sandra added:
For the future we need a more responsible and competitive energy market that works in the public interest. But one thing all energy companies should do now is ensure that everyone aged over 75 is on the cheapest possible tariff.
