Labour MP calls for an early quick referendum
Labour MP Sandra Osborne has called for an early and quick referendum on Scottish independence.
Sandra said:
The Scottish Labour Party favours a one question referendum that is beyond legal challenge and is organised as quickly as possible. We urgently require cross party talks and wider discussions with businesses , trade unions , the voluntary sector and churches to discuss the date of the referendum.
Sandra concluded by saying
I am deeply patriotic and care passionately about the future of Scotland. It is therefore necessary to get a date set for the referendum so we can then have an open and frank debate on whether it is in the Scottish national interest to separate our country from the rest of the UK.
