Labour MP Welcomes New Coastal Communities Fund
Labour MP Sandra Osborne has given a warm welcome to the proposed setting up of a Coastal Communities Fund.
Sandra said:
This new fund is designed to boost the economic development of coastal communities by assisting with a wide range of projects such as helping people start new businesses and supporting voluntary and community sector programmes. The Fund will accept innovative bids from charities, social enterprises and other local organisations and will be funded by Crown Estate revenues from marine activities.
Sandra said that she expected the fund to be officially launched in April 2012 and she said she has been given assurances from Government ministers that she will receive details later in the year about how the communities she represents can make use of the Fund.
Sandra concluded by pledging that as soon as she gets further details she will immediately put the information out to organisations across her constituency.
